The supervisory organisation in Denmark is the National Board of Health, which consists

 

of a central unit and five regional units.

 

The National Board of Health is the supervisory board for all authorized health care professionals in Denmark.

 

Health care provision in Denmark is to a very great extent a public task. The responsibility for running the service is decentralized and lies mostly with the regional authorities.

 

The National Board of Health is a national wide supervisory board which covers both public and private hospitals, clinics, nursing homes ect.

 

The supervision is re-active.
