Prishtina, June 2, 2016

Today the proceedings of the 2 day  - 21st Conference of EPSO , Organized by EPSO (European Partnership for Supervisory Organization in Health Services and Social Care) and the Ministry of Health-Health Inspectorate,  started.

Participants from different European countries were  welcomed by Health Minister Imet Rahman, who highly appreciated the fact that EPSO (European Partnership for Supervisory Organisations in Health and Social Care Services) has chosen Kosovo to hold such a conference.

Supervising organizations which  oversee the  various health services, he said, is particularly  important when health reform is deepening, especially in Kosovo where there are a large number of health institutions which should be supervised.

"The Health Inspectorate of Kosovo  is-  despite its  limited resources - doing everything possible to be as inspectorate in place ; it has encouraging results," said Minister Rahman, He was adding that oversight must be installed everywhere in health services and health care.

He said that  the Ministry of Health is trying through various forms of co-operation between Kosovo's former sister organizations abroad, to increase the level of employment and the capacities of the Inspectorate. "The Inspectorate is the right hand of the Ministry ...", the Minister said.

A presentation on the general characteristics of Kosovo, in particular the health system and the levels of care was presented  by Chief Inspector Ardita Baraku.

Afterwards the colleagues / experts in the field of supervision of health and social care from Denmark, the United Kingdom, Finland, Estonia, Iceland , Norway, The Netherlands, Slovenia, Sweden, Scotland, Wales, Albania, Bulgaria, and Kosovo, continued to work in groups and interactive discussion sessions on topics related to supervision and monitoring of the health and social care, e-health , its norms and standards, e-health and telemedicine and other topics such as observation and other  relevant fields .

The conference will continue its work on Friday.
